Dr. Sasha L. Santiago

Dr. Santiago grew up in communities across the country before settling in Massachusetts, where she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During her time at UMass, she gained hands-on experience working with farm animals and developed a particular fondness for poultry.

She began her veterinary career as a technician in a small animal hospital before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. While in veterinary school, she also worked as both a nutrition and radiology technician, gaining valuable clinical experience across multiple disciplines.

Following graduation, Dr. Santiago worked in emergency medicine before transitioning to general practice, where she enjoys building long-term relationships with clients and providing comprehensive, compassionate care to their pets.

Outside of work, Dr. Santiago enjoys spending time with her family, including her eight nieces and nephews. She shares her home with three cats, an African grey parrot, an axolotl, 4 goats, a barn cat, and a flock of 30+ chickens. While she does not currently offer poultry services, she looks forward to expanding her knowledge in this area to better support local backyard chicken owners in the future.
